Modern Thai: The group behind Thailand’s Nara Thai Cuisine brand of restaurants has brought Apinara, a modern Thai concept, to Pacific Place.

Look & Feel: The interiors take inspiration from classic Thai mansions, with golden rims and dark lacquered furniture.

On the Menu: The menu at Nara updates staples like pad Thai (using shredded papaya noodles, $118) and green curries. There are also more adventurous dishes like spicy Northeastern pork balls ($98) and soft shell crab yellow curry ($198). A drinks menu featuring cocktails and Thai craft beers is also available.

Great For: Get-togethers, a trendy-casual meal.

FYI: Nara Thai Cuisine founder Narawadee has partnered up with Hong Kong restaurateur Pearl Shek on this venture.
