Sharing is Caring: AMMO’s recently revamped concept is all about colorful spreads and healthy Catalonian tapas designed for sharing. Ramping up the fun factor? Instagram-worthy cocktails that come in a light bulb (Smoky Bulb), topped with foam (White Sangria), or teased with a skewer of Parma ham (Blood & Beast).

Look & Feel: Tucked behind the luxury hotel cluster in Pacific Place and housed in a former explosives magazine compound (currently the Asia Society HQ), AMMO’s interiors are anything but quiet. Inspired by the 1965 film noir masterpiece Alphaville, the surrounds are clad with copper to tip the hat to the site’s military past.

Meet the Chef: Having once run the show in Michelin-starred restaurants including Eli Bulli, Spanish chef Jaime Nuñez is all about simplicity, claiming that he’s not a fan of cramming too many ingredients onto the plate.

On the Menu: Tapas and comfort foods are the flavors du jour. Expect a pleasant surprise in every dish: traditional Spanish flavors are juxtaposed with innovative concoctions that complement each other in surprising ways.

Jeng: Our favorites include the Oyster in lime Coconut Soup and Watercress Jelly ($138); and the Prawn and Sea Urchin on Crustacean Mayonnaise Sea Bed ($188), a vibrant slab of seafood and fresh herbs. For dessert lovers, the Lime Cloud with Pistachio Sponge and Coconut Ice Cream ($68) is a must-have.

Great For: Medium-size to large group gatherings. Lazy afternoons and shopping breaks.
