Hong Kong weather is unrelenting rain, sweltering summers, and cold that’s just cold enough to be a pain in our poorly insulated flats. But for a blessed few weeks a year, the weather is perfect. And when the temperatures hit that sweet spot, here’s how best to enjoy the blissful Hong Kong fall weather.

1.  Throw a rooftop party!

Remember that outdoor space you’re shelling out an extra k for, convinced you’ll totally get a ton of use out of it? Time to throw your one rooftop bash of the year to take advantage of that Hong Kong fall weather before going back to never setting foot up there.

2. Model all your fall wear at once

Because those cute open-toe booties and light trench coat will never see the light of day otherwise.

3. Enjoy the great outdoors

No pouring rain or sun beating down on your head? Time to discover your true calling as a hiker — for the next two weeks, at least.

4. Invite your overseas friends over to visit

Sure, you’ll be bringing all your whining to them about the weather into question, but they’ll have a good time. Fair tradeoff.

5. Develop a gardening hobby

Much like the hiking and rooftop-party-throwing, you’ll likely abandon it come spring, but maybe this time’ll be different.

6. Gear up for winter feasting

Peppermint lattes, hot pot, double boiled soups, mulled wine… the time to enjoy such favorites is coming, so maybe now’s the time for some preemptive gymming. Or the time to get your winter foodie wish list ready.
