Lovely Bodies: Gigi Fong, spoken in Cantonese, is a pun meaning “fatty fat” (脂脂肪). The character, created by a local illustrator, is a curvy woman, and the illustrations capture her in all her everyday glory, from having fun and lazing around to cutting her toenails. Gigi Fong is all about body positivity, a celebration of beautiful curves, and a challenge against the social norm that you have to be skinny to look good. The exhibition is held at intimate lifestyle shop Sally’s Toy Tsim Sha Tsui, showcasing original drawings by the artist. Gigi Fong’s picture book and merchandise will be available for sale so you can bring them back home with you!
