Hong Kong New Year’s Eve Countdown

If you want to stand a chance of a waterfront seat, then stake out a spot early. You won’t want to miss this year’s event: the Hong Kong Tourism Board is going above and beyond with a “pyromusical” display that’s set to include 160 smiley-face-shaped fireworks, as well as hearts and “shooting stars.” For the best views, the Hong Kong Tourism Board recommends  a few strategic locations: the Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsm Sha Tsui Promenade, West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, the New Central Harbourfront, Golden Bauhinia Square – or opt for  boat cruise around Victoria Harbour.
