If you’re out exploring in the next couple of months you may stumble upon an outdoor classical music performance, thanks to the Commissioner for Heritage’s Office of the Development Bureau.
As part of an “Appreciate Hong Kong” campaign, the bureau has set up four music groups around town, each performing at a different historic buildings starting January 31 and continuing once a month through April.
Featuring the likes of Asian Young Musician’s Connection and Haw Par Music Foundation, the performances are free and taking place at some beautiful locations such as YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel in Shek Kip Mei, which just got a shoutout from the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
Concerts will also take place at the Green Hub in Tai Po, which used to be the old Tai Po police station and the Stone Houses Family Garden in Kowloon City, as well as in the courtyard of PMQ in Central.
