Hello Heroes: The Hong Kong International Literary Festival is hosting a series of hero-themed events at West Kowloon Cultural District’s Xiqu Centre. In “Introducing a New Asian Superhero: Monkey Prince“, New York Times bestselling author Gene Luen Yang and illustrator will unveil the latest Asian superhero Monkey Prince in the story of DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Edition. This is an original DC story where Monkey Prince emerges as a new superhero and teams up with Shazam to defeat villains threatening to destroy the world.
In ‘Be Your Own Hero: Educated by Tara Westover“, hear from New York Times bestselling author Tara Westover, author of the memoir Educated. She will be speaking to a Hong Kong audience virtually about her personal struggle to reconcile her desire for education and autonomy with her desire to be loyal to her family. Educated in an international bestseller, having sold more than eight million copies worldwide. The Chinese edition sold over two million copies in 2020 and is currently the best-selling non-fiction book in China.
