Women’s Work: In the Polynesian country of Tonga, it’s traditional for women to create handmade textiles from materials such as bark, leaves, and other fibers as bridal dowries. Tunakaimanu Fielakepa, the Dowager Lady Fielakepa in Tonga, who is recognized as a leading authority on the art, has curated this exhibition that showcases a broad range of koloa pieces, exploring different techniques as well as the social and historical influences.
