Fancy Sandwiches: Following on the success of Katsumoto, its Samurai-inspired izakaya in Sai Ying Pun, Bistro Concepts has opened Katsumoto Sando Bar in Soho. The new eatery specializes in Sandos (of course), including the Wagyu Sando ($298), Chilean Sea Bass Sando ($238), Pork Katsu Sando ($148), and Tsukuno Sando ($148). Cocktails are also on the menu, with a selection of specially created, on-theme concoctions like The Geisha (sake, fresh pineapple, yuzu, basil, plum wine, lemon; $110), Shiso Ryoushi (sisho-infused whisky, fernet hunter, sweet vermouth, smoked applewood chips, bitters; $110), and The Last Samurai (whisky, rum, milk, Katsumoto herbs, lemon yuzu, homemade ginger syrup; $110). Pop in for lunch to enjoy a Sando or Karaage Bento, which includes your choice of Sandos or Karaage, along with edamame, gyoza, house salad, and miso soup.
