Classic Rerelease: “In the Mood for Love,” a film by one of Hong Kong’s most celebrated directors Wong Kar-wai, has been released for more than 20 years! To mark the occasion, Wong worked with Italian film restoration company L’Immagine Ritrovata on a 4K digital restoration of the classic film. Emperor Cinemas is now showing the restored version of “In the Mood for Love” across its cinemas, with an accompanying event “In the Mood for Love 20th Anniversary Exhibition” in Tsim Sha Tsui’s iSquare mall.
The exhibition features a 1:1 recreation of an iconic scene in the nostalgic Goldfinch Restaurant, as well as a wall showcasing the most famous lines from the movie and behind-the-scenes photography. From May 7 to 8, there will also be a qipao pop-up store where you can rent a qipao and get your hair done for a 60s experience.
Where? Emperor Cinemas iSquare, 63 Nathan Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui
When? From 29 April onwards
