Make A Wish: It’s been a long-standing tradition to toss joss paper onto two ancient banyan trees near the Tin Hau Temple in Lam Tsuen, dubbed the Lam Tsuen wishing trees, in order to make wishes for the new year. Although the tradition has evolved somewhat due to safety concerns — papers are now tied to imitation trees or wooden racks — locals and visitors are still eager to participate in the fun every year.

When? 8:45am-6:30pm, January 25-February 9, 2020.

Where? Lam Tsuen, Tai Po.

How much? Free!
