All About Books: This year’s festival is going to be a hybrid of more than 70 live and online events on the theme of “Present Tense/Future Perfect”. Writers from around the world will discuss how the literary community is responding to pressing issues such as health, inequality and climate change, US politics as well as US-China relations. South China Morning Post editor Zuraidah Ibrahim and journalist Jeffie Lam, for instance, will discuss covering the anti-extradition protests in 2019, while a group of local writers including Hon Lai Chu and Dorothy Tse will share their favorite works by prominent Hong Kong writer Xi Xi. Other highlights include Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee on her book Be Water My Friend: The True Teachings of Bruce Lee his philosophies, as well as a talk by Asian and Asian-American women writers on their journey to publishing success. The festival will end with a night of Urban Love Poetry by acclaimed Hong Kong poets and guests from elsewhere. Learn more about the full line-up of events here.
