Ready, set, row: Tuen Ng Festival (aka the dragon boast festival) on May 31 has been marked as an official holiday on the Hong Kong calendar, and the festivities will spill over into the weekend.

The Central Harbourfront will be transformed into an all-out carnival from June 2 to June 4, with the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races happening every day, a San Miguel Beer Fest on the side, and all of the city’s food trucks gathered round.

Besides this main event, there will also be dragon boat races all across the city this month and next, from Aberdeen and Stanley to Sai Kung and Lamma island.

When? June 2 to June 4, 2017.
