Discovering Asian Cinema: The Hong Kong Asian Film Festival has returned this year with more amazing productions from Hong Kong, Japan, Korean, Malaysian, Indonesia, and more countries. Opening with Hong Kong Family (2022) by Tsang Hing Weng Eric, and The Narrow Road (2022) by Lam Sum, the festival introduces audiences to two productions that respectively shed light on the tearing cross-generational family relationship and struggling working-class Hong Kong during Covid-19. What’s worth mentioning is that both leading actors Louis Cheung and Angela Yuen are nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress in the coming 59th Golden Horse Awards.
