Bike-sharing service gobee.bike is now up and running in Hong Kong, with a first batch of 1,000 smart bikes available in Tai Po, Ma On Shan and Sha Tin in the New Territories.

Users can locate their own bright green technology-enhanced bike on the gobee.bike app, unlock the bike by scanning a designated QR code, then return the bike at any public space when they’re done with it. The bikes cost $5 per half hour. The company plans to increase both the number of the bikes and its service locations aggressively this summer. Hong Kong island, Kowloon and Discovery Bay are all part of the company’s future service targets.

See the gobee.bike website for more details.
