This summer, ifc mall is teaming up with Japanese artist GAKU for his first-ever art installation outside of Japan. Get ready to jump into the mind of this young, expressive artist as you explore the “Life is a Playground” Creative Art Installation from August 1 to August 28, 2023, at the Oval Atrium of ifc mall.

The installation features three unique zones that will leave visitors in awe. “The Colourful Carousel” Art Installation is inspired by everyone’s favorite playground ride and showcases GAKU’s vivid works in adorable spheres that are suspended in the air. Visitors can also create their own wonderland in the “Create Your Own Playground” Digital Experience using GAKU’s distinguished motifs. Your creation will then be projected onto a 360° digital dome so you can immerse yourself in GAKU’s world and snap a shot for a day to remember. Finally, “The Dream World of GAKU” Art Gallery will feature 20 of the artist’s works for visitors to get up close and personal with his marvelous creations.

GAKU was diagnosed with severe autism at the tender age of three. Still, his lack of verbal communication skills never stopped him from expressing and communicating his positive views through his artwork. At only 21 years old, GAKU produces over 200 pieces of work annually and has hosted more than 20 exhibitions, selling works topping more than 3 million Yen. You won’t want to miss the chance to explore his vibrant mind and childlike wonder.
