Empowering Young Filmmakers: Led by founder and renowned director Johnnie To, Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival is an annual film festival that showcases exceptional projects produced by young local and international filmmakers. Returning to the city for the 16th consecutive year, the festival is bringing Thai director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit to the event with his latest work Heart Attack which has been selected as this year’s opening film. Winner of last year’s “Fresh Wave Award” Chan Kam-hei will also be presenting his new work A Floating Hope to open the season.
Over the years, local cinema has proven its potential through a wide range of works that vary from zombie comedies, world-famous caper films, and most recently, documentaries and biopics.
