Jazzy Weekend: The annual Freespace Jazz Fest is back! This year’s jazz festival continues to spotlight homegrown talents from Hong Kong, showcasing a cross-generational line-up of local jazz artists and a range of musical styles — jazz reinterpretations of classical pieces, traditional big band and experimental music to world music fusion.

Watch pianist Joyce Cheung and her 14-piece ensemble present playful rearrangements of familiar classical pieces fused with a jazz spirit, or catch acclaimed bassist Tsang Tak-hong in a collaboration with Ted Lo, Michael Salcedo, Tsui Chin-hung and Guyshawn Wong. Enjoy original and familiar songs rearranged for a big-band sound in a performance featuring Patrick Lui on piano, a 17-piece big band, a string quartet and acclaimed local singers Janice Vidal and Angelita Li.
