A History Of Piano Literature: This July, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is presenting Liszt’s Piano Concerto no. 1 for free online. The three-movement piece will be performed by HKPhil with Zee Zee on the piano, conducted by Christoph Koncz. Described as a “truly seminal work in the history of piano literature”, the piece opens with unison strings as the piano “burst with all the extravagance of a horror-movie villain”.
