Forget the Fantastic 4, we’ve got the Fantastic 6! With the Year of the Rabbit just around the corner, the Harbourfront Commission presents “Fantastic 6 @ Victoria Harbourfront”. The Lunar New Year & Valentine’s Day installation will be located at six harbourfront sites, featuring works from local artists. The combination of lighting, art and interactive games creates a unique spectacle for visitors with great memories to be made. Soak in the magnificent view of Victoria Harbour and share some beloved times together with loved ones on the six Instagrammable sites.
Nick the Robot’s Adventure @ Belcher Bay Promenade, Kennedy Town
Local artist, Orson Li, has created a vibrant and playful installation for the theme of “Jubilation”. The installation is a playground for both adults and kids with fun & interactive elements across the harbor. It features the Time Travel Slide, Flying Rope, and a set of ingenious Giant Tubes that is certain to inject positive vibes into the community!

LED Chinese Drum @ HarbourChill, Wan Chai
The 9-meter-high 3D LED Chinese Drum is definitely an attention grabber for passersby. The theme of “Feeling Happy & Proud” flows throughout Harbourchill and illuminates the space, setting the Lunar New Year right. On Valentine’s Day, this spectacle turns into a lovefest with the interactive “love heartbeat sensor” button on the other side.

Chocolate Rain 12 Chinese Zodiac Signs @ Water Sports and Recreation Precinct, Wan Chai
Local artist, Prudence Mak, has brought a series of installations relating to Lunar New Year Delicacies for Fantastic 6. It features the “Chocolate Rain 12 Chinese Zodiac Signs” on the theme of “Well-fed and Well-clothed” across the precinct. The 3-meter dolls hold up one hand like a Maneki-Neko to bring you good health & prosperity. Figures representing the 12 Chinese zodiac signs are on display on the 19-meter-long Harbour Steps to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Fire Dragon @ Revitalised Typhoon Shelter Precinct, Causeway Bay
The 15-meter-long Fire Dragon is giving an authentic Hong Kong touch as it echoes the theme of “Favourable Weather”. The dragon symbolizes blessings whilst highlighting the essence of traditional Chinese culture for visitors. To make Valentine’s Day extra special, the Fire Dragon will be transformed into love knots, bringing lovers together. The surrounding installations, pavilion, and railings will be decorated with pink hearts where lovers can relish every sweet moment together in front of the
harbor and under the moonlight.

Bamboo Wish @ East Coast Park Precinct, Fortress Hill
“Abundant Wealth” is the theme in the East Coast Park Precinct with the 4-meter-high “Bamboo Wish” art occupying the center. Visitors can walk through the archway and appreciate festive themes on all four sides. The golden bamboo wall symbolizes “wealth”. The kumquats that fill the hollow bamboo tube represent “luck”. The poetic peach blossom tree is decorated with white stones representing “popularity”. A giant bouquet with 200 roses adorning the heart-shaped archway represents “love”. As you can see, the architects have meticulously curated the art piece to evoke different emotions & feelings.

Din Dong Chinese New Year Parade @ Tsuen Wan Promenade
Local artist John Chan was invited to the Fantastic 6 series to instill vitality and festivity into the Tsuen Wan Promenade. His “Din Dong Chinese New Year Parade” installation echoes the Chinese idiom “the carp jumps over the dragon gate”, which denotes personal success. Din Dong presents a variety of Instagrammable installations inviting visitors to welcome the New Year with joy. In February, the promenade will be turned into the “Din Dong Love Train” celebrating Valentine’s Day.
