Remembrance Day: The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China is organizing its 28th annual Candlelight Vigil in remembrance of the Tiananmen Square Crackdown on June 4, 1989. That day, a weeks-long student-led protest for democracy in Beijing resulted in a government crackdown that led to civilian deaths (to this day, the numbers are unconfirmed).
The numbers of protesters are expected to be smaller than in previous years, as the rift between different pro-democracy movements and different generations becomes more pronounced.
When? 8pm, June 4, 2017.
Where? Victoria Park Soccer Pitches, Causeway Bay.
How to attend? Head straight to the park.
