- Starts : February 19th, 2023
- Ends: March 6th, 2023
Though well-developed like any other urban part of town, former fishery village Ap Lei Chau honors its past with the annual Hung Shing Culture Festival. For those who need context, Hung Shing is believed to be the god of the southern sea, or the guardian of fishermen of the area with his vast geographical knowledge in life.
Celebrate this century-old occasion by attending the Sacrificial Ceremony, the Blessing of Water Lanterns and the Blessing of Dragon Boats. Of course, you can’t call it traditional Chinese festivities unless there’s lion dances and opera performances involved. Come immersive yourself in the local customs from today until March 6.
