An Inclusive Recreation Conference: Living through the fifth wave of the Covid outbreak in Hong Kong has been tough for everyone, even more so for families with disabled children. The Accessible Wellbeing Initiative, supported by Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, will hold a virtual conference via Zoom, with guests from across Asia, that features talks, demonstrations, and experiences linked to accessible, inclusive, and adaptive activities, such as yoga, nutrition, rhythm, movement, mindfulness, and more.
“Our aim has always been to bridge the gap, providing equitable access to wellbeing support to improve quality of life for marginalized communities,” says Hersha Chellaram, co-founder and executive director of YAMA Foundation. “We believe everyone has the right to feel good in their bodies, peaceful in their minds, and live colorful lives – regardless of their background or ability.” Save the date to participate and help create a more inclusive environment.
Guests: Ajmal Samuel, Founder of The Association of Universal Accessibility Hong Kong; Margaret Chung, Founder of BEYOND Children’s Special Needs Foundation; and Fezia Tyebally, CranioSacral Practitioner, Yoga Therapist, and Founder of Amirs Gym in Kuala Lumpur.
