Playground History: The “Our Abstract Playscapes” exhibition is a loving look into the history and design of playgrounds in Hong Kong from the 1960s to 80s. It begins from the birth of playgrounds in Hong Kong, to the emergence of play spaces shaped by influences of modernist architecture and abstract art. Highlights include four sets of models of the playgrounds at Shek Lei, Ping Shek Estate, Sheung Shing Street Park and Sha Kok Estate, a documentary film on the construction process of Shek Lei Playground, ceramic and cyanotype artworks inspired by the memories of playgrounds, as well as publications about the history of playground design.
