Co-owner, Mrs Pound and Foxglove

Homegrown Hongkonger Shakib Pasha is the restaurateur behind Mrs Pound and Foxglove, the speakeasy-style venues loved by the city’s hippest, most discerning diners.

A founder of craft beer distribution company BestBev, Pasha worked in bulk commodities trading company Shun Shing Group before launching Mrs Pound in 2014 to great acclaim. In 2015, Foxglove, a sleek, stylish jazz bar and restaurant decked out like an old umbrella shop outfront, followed.

“I’ve always loved food and beverage and been very interested in cooking,” he says. “I used to experiment with different recipes during college.”

What does he consider his biggest accomplishment? “Being able to innovate in a such a crowded market as F&B In Hong Kong.”

His innovations don’t stop there. In 2017, Pasha is looking to launch his own craft gin brand — so watch this space.

His very first job? He worked as an intern at a digital bandwidth service company during high school.
