Hong Kong 30 Under 30 2015

Co-founder and president, GuavaPass

Now dividing his time between Singapore and Hong Kong, American media specialist Rob Pachter has had a busy couple of years. When he moved to Singapore from New York in 2014, Pachter joined a gym and realized he no longer enjoyed working out alone.

“I heard about a few boutique studios offering group exercise classes and was instantly intrigued,” Pachter says. “After doing extensive research on boutique studios in Singapore, it became clear to me that there was no way to sift through the laundry list of studios and know which ones are of good quality.”

Pachter and business partner Jeffrey Liu created GuavaPass, a fitness membership app that enables users to access the best boutique classes like yoga, pilates, spinning, dancing, bootcamp and boxing.

GuavaPass launched in Singapore in early 2015 followed by the app’s Hong Kong launch this past September with plans of further expansion across the region.  “We are creating a highly curated social community around healthy living.”

His very first job? Trading commodities/forex for a retail firm on Wall Street.
