Co-founders, Little Philanthropist

Sisters Jeorge and Samantha Petris are the co-founders of Little Philanthropist, a nonprofit that seeks to educate and engage children in helping others. The two were inspired to start the organization after a family friend became stricken with cancer.

Starting up an NGO is no mean feat, especially at the Petris’ age — but the co-founders have successfully spread the word on their cause. There are currently 64 ambassadors under Little Philanthropist, a number Jeorge hopes to double by next year. The two have worked in elderly homes and orphanages alike, while also conducting fundraisers on behalf of the Cancer Fund, Children’s Cancer Foundation and Mother’s Choice.

“We hope it will grow so other kids are excited about helping others like we are,” Jeorge says. “We want to make the world a better place and inspire others to do the same.”

Samantha is on the same wavelength. “I want to help sick kids in hospitals,” she says. “I hope what we do can make them smile.”
