Founder, Electric Soul

Christina Tang founded Electric Soul, a dance music platform that connects music lovers and allows them to share experiences at festivals and concerts with people all over the world.

The entrepreneur had just moved back to Hong Kong from Vancouver when she decided to try something new. “I went to my fair share of festivals in the US, and met a lot of amazing individuals there,” she says. “I realized there was no dance music-dedicated platform for us — as Facebook may be too personal.”

The app, launched in 2016, caters to a fanbase who are often eager to travel to different countries for festivals, and share their experience on social media. It features information on under-the-radar events in the electronic music community and also includes social elements like comments, a following function, and ticketing.

For music lover Tang, work and play come hand in hand with the launch of Electric Soul. She continues working with software engineers and graphic designers to improve the app.

Her very first job? Financial advisor.
