The government announced earlier that the city’s Covid-19 vaccination program will expand to cover those aged under 30. The expansion took place officially last Friday, meaning — residents above the age of 16 can now book the Covid-19 BioNTech vaccine online!
To book your Covid-19 jab, all you need to do is book an appointment via the online system (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk).
The city’s vaccination program currently offers two Covid-19 vaccine: the German-made BioNTech shot, and the mainland China-made Sinovac vaccine. Starting May 1, there will be 24 BioNTech adn five Sinovac community vaccination venues in the city. Make sure to check that you’re choosing your desired vaccine and the according venue during the booking process.
Under the new expanded program, residents aged 16 or above can book a vaccination appointment for the BioNTech jab, while those older than 18 can also choose the mainland-China produced Sinovac vaccine.
The BioNTech vaccine will only be available through the end of September due to “limited supply,” the government announced earlier. All community vaccination centers will close at the end of September, and the government urged people wishing to receive the BioNTech shot to book their first dose in August the latest. The Sinovac vaccine will continue to be available after September at private clinics and general out-patient clinics.
