Emblematic of Hong Kong’s rapid rhythm and energetic buzz, the lively district of Central is also the standing proof of the city’s profuse history, with each historic building providing us a glimpse into the past and — as more revitalsation projects are under way — the present.

Providing a unique opportunity for the public to experience the rich history, culture and arts ambience of the Central and Western District, the Commissioner for Heritage’s Office of the Development Bureau collaborates with the Antiquities and Monuments Office, PMQ, Tai Kwun and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to bring back the revered “Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road” event on November 20, this time branching out from Hollywood Road to other notable historic landmarks in Central and the Western District.

Apart from the three historic buildings, namely, Tai Kwun, PMQ, Man Mo Temple, along the Hollywood Road, the public will find themselves marveling at the architectural beauty of Central Market, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Bridges Street Centre, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, the Fringe Club, Hong Kong City Hall, the Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, Hong Kong News-Expo, The Helena May, and The Murray.

This year’s “Heritage Vogue · Hollywood Road” will feature a wide array of activities tailored to each location and their unique significance amidst the waves of time: the day-long event is colorfully packed with PMQ’s deTour 2022 Preview, Man Mo Temple’s traditional cultural workshops and performances, Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum’s Fun Day 2022 and heritage fashion parade, exhibitions at Fringe Club, Hong Kong City Hall and Hong Kong News-Expo, and more.

Those with an affinity for an in-depth journey will find great enjoyment in the star guided tours led by knowledgeable professionals from their respective fields. Some of these tours will offer audio guides through the Storius mobile app.

So many activities, so little time! To help you make the most out of the day, a free hop-on-hop-off bus service will be in operation from 12nn to 8pm on the event day. Every 5 to 10 minutes, you can catch a ride at the 9 stops located near to the participating historic buildings.
