The Government today announced that Haw Par Music will close down in December due to operational challenges. The historic building of Haw Par Mansion, which is its base of operation, will be returned to the Government on the same day.
Haw Par Music is a project created in 2019 under the Government’s Revitalisation Scheme, designed to encourage cross-cultural exchange through music, heritage and arts in Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the organization has been offering Chinese and Western music training and regular free guided tours of the historic mansion to the public, with a mission to create a unique cultural hub for the Hong Kong community, where the heritage of the Haw Par Mansion integrates with a variety of vibrant and enriched music education and arts programs.
Haw Par Mansion will remain open for public visits, and activities already planned will continue to be held until December 1, 2022.
