At a glance, qipaos appear elegant and feminine, but there’s more to these traditional Chinese garments than meets the eye. Their popularity and cultural significance have been recognized and celebrated in the “Cinderella and Her Qipao” exhibition, part of the 2023 Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival. The exhibition highlights qipaos worn by iconic actresses and showcases their crossover with musical films, including the classic work “Cinderella and Her Little Angels” (1959). Attendees can enjoy seminars and screenings, while catching a glimpse of the fashion industry’s glory and glamour.
