Dedicated to Sun Yat-sen, the revolutionary who was instrumental in overthrowing the Qing dynasty and who is widely dubbed “the father of the Republic of China”, this four-story museum is home to two permanent exhibitions of historical artifacts charting the statesman’s life and career, complemented by multilingual audiovisual materials that guide you through the museum. Special emphasis is placed on Sun Yat-sen’s relationship to Hong Kong, where he attended secondary school and university. The museum’s location is also of note: Kom Tong Hall is a historic building and monument in itself, formerly owned by the first Chinese family who was permitted to live in the Mid-Levels in the early 20th century.
