Eaton HK will be launching a “Pay It Forward” meal program to provide free meals to underprivileged groups. Simply purchase an additional meal at the Jordan hotel, and ask to donate the meal credit to someone in need.
The participating restaurants are Flower Years, Fûhn, and Souper Kitchen, all located at the Eaton Food Hall. The initiative aims to provide free, nutritious and freshly made meals to low-income groups and those affected by COVID-19. People in need can claim a Pay It Forward meal at the above restaurants for free.
The city’s unemployment rate is now at its highest in more than 15 years. According to the latest data from the Census and Statistics Department, Hong Kong’s jobless rate is at 6.2 percent in the second quarter of 2020.
Eaton HK has also opened the ballroom on the 2/F as a safe and clean space for everyone to eat their lunch, and has worked with social enterprise Sister Bento to distribute 600 care packages in the last two months.
The program begins on Saturday, August 8. Pay It Forward meals will be available daily from 12nn to 8pm.
