The Museum of Medical Sciences is a quiet yet stately three-story Edwardian building that sits near the trendy PoHo neighborhood in Sheung Wan. Originally Hong Kong’s first laboratory dedicated to public health, it closed down in the 1970s while the building was recognized as a monument in the 1990s. The Hong Kong College of Pathologists petitioned the government to use the building as a medical museum, and from 1996 the building has been dedicated to educating the public about health, medical science, and Hong Kong’s medical history. Expect exhibitions of heritage objects as well as plenty of educational events.
