We’ve got an idea: cafe hopping. If your next trip to Shenzhen revolves around discovering new bites, snapping pictures to show your followers or sitting down and clearing your task list for the week, don’t miss out on the below cafes with perfect environment (and taste, of course!) scores in our book.

Kuddo Coffee

One of the hottest new additions to Luohu District’s blooming cafe landscape, Kuddo Coffee captivates passersby with the streamlined, rigid beauty of the industrial style and the soothing sounds of nature all in one place. Converted from a former brewery, this local gem retains the cubic concrete structure from the building’s last life, while livening up the interior with wooden furnishings and curved motifs. Of course, it’s not a 10/10 Instagram post without a signature soy milk pudding latte in the foreground.

Vows Coffee

Vibes matter, and Vow Coffee is happy to show you why it’s the case. Bedecked with ferns and potted plants, this oasis in Futian District features an airy interior and retro armchairs on tiled floors to bring you back to a lazy afternoon in the 1980s. To make the space cozier with a lived in ambience, you are more than welcome to bring your furry friends along — just make sure their paws are away from the home baked pastries inspired by seasonal flowers.

Café Monson

Café Monson is the perfect middle ground between a Showa period coffee house and a locals’ hangout spot in a vacation beach town: its striking white exterior makes sure you won’t miss your stop, and when you step inside, a nostalgic living room with pristine painted walls and wooden furniture makes you feel right at home. Don’t forget to clear your schedule for an afternoon of lounging around at Café Monson, its signature cheese pudding and hand drip coffee before you.

Flower Yin Coffee

Flower Yin Coffee is associated with gentle sun beams, elegant greenery and exceptional cafe staples. Nestled beside a quiet pier, this lesser known Instagrammable spot invites you to be one with nature, even for a brief moment every weekend. Under the canopy of surrounding trees, you can savor a sip of the go-to coconut latte while basking in the serene costal view just steps away. If you’ve ever wanted a break from the hustle of everyday life, drop by for a little bit.

A pleasantly surreal crossover of a forest, a contemporary home and a well-appointed hotel lobby, Mr. Walden Coffee draws you in with calming earth tones and tree trunks you can’t miss. Want a break from the grounded colors? You are more than welcome to pick a seat by the full-length windows: makes for a great setup for peoplewatching and resting your mind. And before you ask, yes, you can absolutely flip through the books on the shelves. We’re not in a rush.

working coffee

The perfect backdrop for your social media feed aside, cafes make for a great source of productivity — think about the faint aroma of coffee, sunlight peeking through the windows and sounds of the person opposite you tapping on their keyboard, earbuds in. That’s preciously why you should grab your laptop and head to working coffee, a luxury haven with high ceilings, contemporary furnishings and an ample supply of what fuels you most on a day of getting stuff done: caffeine.

匠心庭院 Bakery & Cafe

Zen is arguably the best accompanying dish to a cup of latte (with latte art!) on a loungy weekend afternoon. Modeled after a traditional courtyard house, 匠心庭院 Bakery & Cafe offers a humble, peaceful space for patrons within a vibrant residential community. Order your drink (caffeinated or not), then pick a spot at either the foyer, the spacious living area or the sectioned off garden. Pay this charming spot a visit, whether you’re a lone traveler or part of a large group.
