What is it? The 7th edition of the Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong 2019 will take place on From May 17-19, 2019, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. 116 local and international galleries will be showcasing a diverse range of art priced between HK$1,000 and HK$100,000.
Established in London 20 years ago, the Affordable Art Fair is a great platform to approach art in a fun and accessible way. Whether you are new to art or a seasoned art collector, there’s always something to discover. The fair strives to inform and inspire everyone so they are empowered when looking at a variety of artworks.
This year, the fair focuses on new media. In the Young Talent Hong Kong section, curator Eric Leung has created a program that will allow a deeper understanding of the new media genre and the exciting young artists who are taking part in it.
The fair will also allow visitors to experience large interactive installations from the The Legendary Bird, a motion sensing sculpture by The Collection; Pegasus 2.0 light sculpture by Stefan Yordanov to Creation of Adam by Rashad Alakbarov.
On 17 May, it’s #ArtHappy Friday, a charity evening during which visitors can celebrate how art has changed the lives of so many by witnessing art performances. In addition, they’ll get to hear 5-minute VPACT talks about art for the visually impaired, sustainability, and many more!
The Affordable Art Fair is not just in Hong Kong. It can also be found in 10 other cities around the world.
