22-year-old activist Joshua Wong, who has been recognized for his leading role in the 2014 Umbrella Movement and for co-founding secondary school activist group Scholarism in 2011, will publish his first book in English with British publisher WH Allen in February 2020.

Titled “Unfree Speech: The Threat to Global Democracy and Why We Must Act Now”, the book will be co-authored by lawyer Jason Ng and will span Wong’s activities from 2011 to the present, including his experiences as an activist as well as letters he penned while in prison. Though Wong has previously published books in Chinese, this will be his first work in English.
