With the weather finally cooling down (thank god), it’s time to get in the spirit of Christmas with a trip to the malls around Hong Kong that have decked their halls for the festive season. The best news of all: some Xmas mall decorations are not going anywhere till the beginning of the New Year, giving you plenty of time to go visit them!

UniChristmas @ Harbour City

Harbour City never fails to show up and show out with its festive decorations, and this year is no exception. You are bound to be dazzled by the glitzy and unconventional 10-meter-tall Xmas tree, with the theme being “Unicorn Merry-Go-Round Paradise”. Their unique decorations tell a story about four unicorns that possess unique characteristics: Dreams, Harmony, Happiness, & Treasures. Plus, this is Instagram-worthy, don’t you think?

Ocean Terminal Forecourt, Harbour City. Open 17 Nov 2022 – 2 Jan 2023 10am – 10pm.

When you think of Xmas, hot chocolate, a warm & cozy fireplace, and Santa Claus might come to mind. Well, although most of us tend not to have a fireplace in Hong Kong (which is a real shame), we have the ifc mall that can provide us with the classic Christmas feeling, especially with Santa Claus flying in from Finland. You might also get the chance to meet Santa Claus and send your mail across the magical Arctic Circle to the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland.

Oval Atrium, Podium Level 1, ifc mall. Open 23 Nov 2022 — 2 Jan 2023 10:30 am – 9 pm.

Duffy & Friends: A Journey to Christmas Town @ MOKO (Mong Kok)

Photo: MOKO

This year, MOKO has teamed up with Hong Kong Disneyland to give us a Christmas extravaganza, filled with tons of photo opportunities for Disney lovers. Disney’s Duffy and friends have taken over MOKO and built various Xmas-themed dens around the mall, where visitors can enter the 5.8-meter-tall LinaBell Christmas treehouse. Also, did we mention there’s a Duffy and LinaBell Christmas Meet & Greet on Dec 4?

Atrium and L1 on MOKO MTR floor, 193 Prince Edward Road W, Mong Kok. Open 19 Nov 2022 – 8 Jan 2023.

Fluffy Festival @ Langham Place

We got another Disney-partnered Xmas mall decor at Langham Place, with this year’s theme geared around the warm and fuzzy feeling that we normally associate with Christmas. The 6-meter-tall fluffy Christmas tree will certainly take your breath away, giving you a unique and fluffy backdrop to all your social media photos, so definitely get your phone ready. For last-minute Christmas gift shoppers, don’t worry: there’s a pop-up shop to purchase all things furry and cute.

L4 Atrium, Langham Place, Mong Kong. Open 16 Nov 2022 – 1 Jan 2023 11 am – 10 pm.

If you’re a Sanrio fan, listen up! The ‘kawaii’ Pompompurin and friends have landed in Metroplaza in Kwai Chung to give us a holly jolly Christmas. They’ve got their space gear on and are ready to enchant us with their beautiful light installations and space-Christmas-theme decor. Also, if you’re stuck on what Christmas gifts to get, there’ll be an exclusive pop-up shop selling all of Pompompurin and friends’ goodies — but hurry, as this display is only open till Jan 1, 2023.

223 Hing Fong Rd, Kwai Chung, New Territories. Open 10 am – 10 pm.

‘It’s a relaxing time’ Xmas spa with Serrini & Botanic Union @ Times Square

The bustling Times Square in Causeway Bay has transformed into a serene scene from the Nordic forest focused on relaxation during the holiday season. The cottage and the added mist from the “Tree Baby” character’s jacuzzi, give a therapeutic feeling in an urban setting, making it truly a unique experience this Christmas.

Are you looking for snow this Christmas? CityWalk’s latest Xmas display will satisfy the winter feeling we all crave in Hong Kong. Whilst you’re enjoying the beautiful arctic displays, the campaign looks to grab visitors’ attention with powerful messages about the environment and how we can protect our marine life and fellow penguins. Ocean Park has also set up a pop-up Polar Shopping Village for those interested in purchasing goodies for Christmas.

Event Hall, Citywalk, Tsuen Wan. Open 25 Nov 2022 – 2 Jan 2023 10 am – 10 pm.

LTA Christmas Disco @ Lee Tung Avenue

Lee Tung Avenue has taken us back to the groovy times with their retro disco-themed Christmas display this year. A 7-meter gigantic disco ball, snow effects & tunes from the 70s & 80s, will make it hard for those passing by without wanting to let out a little dance. Also, a perfect ambiance for social media photos, of course.

Lee Tung Avenue, 200 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai. Open 18 Nov 2022 – 2 Jan 2023 10 am – 10 pm.
